THE LENSES:
We are proud to say that all pye sunglasses lenses are polarised providing better vision quality than non-polarised lenses by removing almost all sun glare, increasing comfort and reducing squinting and eye fatigue.
All pye lenses are made from polycarbonate, which is both lightweight and impact-resistant, making them perfect for outdoor sport or running about at school because they are extremely tough. Polycarbonate lenses are made from a similar material used for aircraft windshields so should withstand the most active kids! They are also very lightweight so will not be heavy and uncomfortable on smaller faces.
Another great advantage of polycarbonate lenses over the cheaper acrylic lenses is that they are scratch resistant (not scratch proof), however as an added measure we have also applied an anti-scratch coating (but again, not scratch proof) to the lenses.
If that’s not enough, polycarbonate lenses offer a higher optical clarity than the cheaper acrylic lenses which most kid’s sunglasses on the market today are made from.
THE pyeFLEX FRAMES:
The pyeFLEX range is made from a flexible rubber which should stand a very good chance of survival even up against the most adventurous of children, making them perfect for the school yard or sports ground! The tip of the arm is bendable so you can bend the arms to hold snugly around the head or the ears. No more falling off the face or down the nose. Brilliant!! Lightweight and soft, the rubber frame offers maximum comfort for small faces.
Another cool addition to the pyeFLEX range is the name and phone number labels added to the inside of the frame, so hopefully if they get left on a bench at school, they can easily be returned.
THE pyeSPORT FRAMES:
The pyeSPORT range has a polycarbonate frame for strength and lightness making them an ideal choice for kids who love their outdoor sport and want the sporty look. The rubber nose pad is comfortable and holds the sunglasses in place so as to minimise movement when playing active sports such as tennis, cricket or athletics. These are also ideal for kids who love to cycle, play golf or do anything active outdoors.
AUSTRALIAN STANDARDS COMPLIANT:
pye children’s sunglasses comply with the mandatory requirements of the Australian and New Zealand Standard AUS/NZ 1067:2003. They are Lens Category 3 sunglasses with HIGH sunglare reduction and good UV protection.
